TAYLOR BARNARD

INTRODUCTION

Taylor Barnard (born 1 June 2004) is a 21-year-old racing driver from Norwich, Norfolk, England, currently competing in the FIA Formula E World Championship.

Barnard began karting at a young age, collecting major titles including the WSK Final Cup and WSK Champions Cup before stepping up to single-seaters in 2020. He quickly established himself as a front-runner, finishing runner-up in the 2022 ADAC Formula 4 Championship and again in the 2023 Formula Regional Middle East Championship. Later that year, he claimed his maiden FIA Formula 3 victory at Spa-Francorchamps. In 2024, during his rookie Formula 2 campaign, he took a breakthrough win in the Monaco Sprint Race with AIX Racing.

His Formula E journey began with NEOM McLaren in 2023 as Reserve and Development Driver. He made his debut in Monaco in 2024, stepping in for the injured Sam Bird. At just 19 years and 331 days old, he became the youngest driver ever to start a Formula E race. Strong performances soon followed, including points finishes in Berlin, which made him the youngest point scorer in championship history. These results earned him a full-time race seat with McLaren for Season 11 alongside Bird.

Barnard’s first season as a full-time Formula E driver has been marked by rapid success. In São Paulo, he claimed his first podium, becoming the youngest podium finisher in Formula E at 20 years and 189 days. He later added to his accolades with pole position in Jeddah, securing another record as the youngest pole sitter. His consistency and speed have propelled him into the top ranks of the Drivers’ Standings, firmly establishing him as one of the brightest young talents in electric motorsport.
